Underground Railway Theater and The Providence Black Repertory Companies have collaborated to bring you the East Coast premiere of the theatrical performance Harriet Jacobs’ by Lydia R. Diamond to Hibernian Hall (182 – 186 Dudley St, Roxbury)
This is a true story of the incidents in the book “Life of a Slave Girl” to the stage
The play is about human oppression and how certain people rise above it enables Jacobs to reach out to us from her own era. It compels us to look at our history as if for the first time in her unsparing yet beautifully poetic coming-of-age storyShowtimes are:
